Watched Netflix disc 'THE HUNT'. A group of super wealthy elites round up 'deplorables' to hunt for sport. 'Truth'  is whatever political homily you happen to believe and the film is a broad satire derived from the extreme political views of today. I haven't laughed that hard in ages; with Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Hilary Swank, Ike Barinholtz, Wayne Duvall, Ethan Suplee, Emma Roberts, and Amy Madigan. TV Network News Story Begins: "The Climate Change Myth suffered another blow today..." Crisis Actors...

Watched 'CITIZEN KOCH' (Plex-TV). Offers the background as to how 'Citizens United' came about. It shows our two party system as an arrangement that runs on vast amounts of money and has little or nothing to do with the average citizen. I didn't know that the Koch Brothers' father helped found The John Birch Society. Also a comprehensive report on Scott Walker's election and recall in Wisconsin. No more political themes for at least 18 hours.

1220pm: PC is 'Off' and will do the Weekly Cleaning and then an afternoon at Planet Fitness.  

115pm:  To Planet Fitness.  45" Cross.  45" Treadmill. 30" Bike.  30" Treadmill.  30"Cross and finished the JOAN DIDION biopic on Netflix,  and more of J.R.E, and part of a WHISKEY GINGER. 

520pm: In the tub and finished 'THE BLOOD ARTISTS' and listened to JOHN MAYALL.  

Watched 'THE OTHER SIDE' (Plex-TV).  It's not so much that the characters are poor and forsaken (although they clearly are), but it's more like cheap liquor and bathtub drugs have truly blown their minds. Example: A stripper who is nearly eight months pregnant works the pole after she shoots up some homemade meth. A profile of America's  rural poor who have fallen so far through the cracks that their ignorance and rage is truly disturbing.  The characters seem so removed from the most basic 21st century values and beliefs that they don't seem real or that this is a parallel universe set in 'Feudal America'.  And they all hate Obama, but one of the alcoholic zombies is convinced that Hilary is the answer. Creepy, odd and I wonder if this was a 'scripted' reality/documentary. Filmed in West Monroe, Louisiana- like nothing else.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
