Th 1/20/22- Buddy Sick

945am. 825pm. (only twice today because of anxiety over Buddy)

Up 710am: Sunny, breezy, and frigid. Temps to mid teens with wind chills below zero.

***Buddy threw up this morning and it might have been that the can I opened was not pate. At 935am I opened a can of pate and hoped that he'll keep it down. 

Watched 'RED 11' (Hoopla).   A guy owes a huge debt to a Mexican cartel and signs up for a voluntary medical experiment to make some quick and easy cash, but it's not so easy.  Life is an experiment and we are its lab rats.  "I love this job. I take drugs professionally". Spoiler Guy ruins the endings to CRYING GAME, FIGHT CLUB, SHUTTER ISLAND, and several more. Funny and clever.

Watched  'MAMA WEED' (Amazon Prime).  A translator for the Paris narcotics squad absconds with a couple hundred pounds of hash because she needs the cash.  She stumbles upon the plan because the Algerian woman who takes care of her elderly mother has a son involved in the drug trade. I watched the first 30" while eating rice and will finish on the treadmill. Not a bad film, and Isabelle Huppert was great.

***Buddy has kept down his food, but seems a little more detached than usual. He hasn't pestered for his food which is a huge departure from his normal behavior. Still not himself at 745pm.   

1230pm: FIVE MILES AT 3.7 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT (last 2 miles at 3.8 pace) and finished 'MAMA WEED' (AMAZON PRIME) and began JESSA REED on BERTCAST. 

Read 'RABBIT IS RICH' on the couch. 

455pm:  TWO MILES AT 3.8 PACE (an increase) AND 0.50 SLANT and watched more of a JOEY'S JOINT. 

545pm: In the tub with 'RABBIT IS RICH' and listening to BLODWYN PIG;  COLOSSEUM; THE PRETTY THINGS 'Live'- totally excellent!

***I downloaded a huge phone update and it took over ten minutes. I see no difference. 

Watched more of JESSA REED on BERTCAST.

Then one and a half episodes of 'STATELESS' (Netflix).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
