We 1/19/22

 We 1/19/22

905am. 1240pm. 745pm.

Up 7am: Cloudy with temps dropping from about 30 down to single digits tonight. Tomorrow's high is only in the teens.

Right at 8a the PC turned off. Very weird and no reason why it happened, but I was back online in a snap. Very unsettling.

***I called ATT Benefits to authorize a dollar deduction a month for my United Healthcare Plan Plus. Yesterday I got a letter saying that the benefits department didn't know whether to take the dollar from savings or checking. I had to give the routing and account numbers and this is always confusing. She said that this part is now set and I got a phone number to find out how I access the benefits and what they exactly entail. I'll call later.

Watched 'THE BIG TOWN' (Amazon Prime). A crap shooter doesn't believe in luck because he's an avid student of probability and statistics. He initially picks the wrong woman, but it works out in the end. I liked it and the sets and costumes were very believable for Chicago of 1957. One critic said that the film lacked soul and I guess that's true, but how about the stellar cast; with Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, Tommy Lee Jones, Bruce Dern, Lee Grant, and Tom Skerrit. Filmed in Chicago, IL and Toronto, Canada.

Began the next episode of 'STATELESS' (Netflix).

Begin at 23" with 27" left

1220pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for an afternoon at Planet Fitness.

1250pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Cross.  45" Treadmill. 30" Bike.  30" Treadmill.  30" Cross and listened to 'Volunteers' - THE AIRPLANE', 'The Puppet Master' (Netflix), SKEPTIC TANK, and began a JOEY'S JOINT.

Read for a bit with peanuts/flakes/Cheerios/ ranch dressing.

530pm: In the tub with JEAN GENET and listening to HANK MOBLEY; 'Mr. FANTASY- TRAFFIC, a couple of 'BREAKING POINTS'.

Watched the rest of 'THE PUPPET MASTER: Hunting the Ultimate Conman' (Netflix).  Con-man claims to be an MI5 agent and takes people for hundreds of thousands and continues the cons for over a decade. His marks are forced to cut all ties with family and friends and communication is highly scripted. Do people have the right to spend their lives with anyone they choose and to throw away their hard earned dollars on whatever strikes their fancy? Hard to believe, but the law can apparently try to save ourselves from ourselves.

Watched an episode of 'KILLER MYSTERIES' (Amazon Prime- 20" episodes). Daniel Wu kills a female motel cleaner and a year later murders a fifty three year old woman on a hiking trail in Pendleton, OR. When asked why he killed he said he was just curious to see what it would feel like to take a human life.
