 Th 3/10/22

8am. 1010am (a pinch). 1235pm (3 hits/ bong). 735pm.

Up 630am: Overcast with flurries and light snow beginning late this afternoon and continues through the night. One to three inches are predicted- 30's.

***Borrowed 'A SINGLE MAN' and 'THE SMOKE' from Hoopla.

Watched 'THE SMOKE' (Hoopla). Very low-budget English film about a young London  lawyer who is fired, dumped by his girlfriend, and later on the same day, he overhears a way to scam some drug dealers for 400,000 pounds. The flimflam works but two muscle-heads from the syndicate are close on his heels. This is very much a 'B-Movie' and that's most of the appeal. It hadn't even been 'starred' on Hoopla. I gave it 'four stars'.

Then I watched 'THE WEEKEND AWAY' (Netflix). Two friends enjoy a weekend getaway to Croatia and after an alcohol and drug fueled night, one of the women goes missing. It was the other girl's boyfriend that did it. Another  top drawer, 'B-Movie' thriller and this one had the beautiful country of Croatia as a backdrop.  Filmed in Zagreb and Split, Croatia.

1215pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk in the park before the snow moves in later this afternoon.

1245pm:  Parkview,  Oakmont,  Country Club,  Outer Park,  Lincoln,  Leland, Walnut, northside Wash.Pk,...saw Larry & wife and fled to walk a trail I had never been on. Exited near the 'concession stand'. Up the hill,  Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...TWO HOURS...Mp3...BRIAN ENO, ELVIS COSTELLO, MILES DAVIS.

Reading 'FALLEN'

445pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 1.0 SLANT and watched more of BEN BURGIS on J.R.E.

***Light snow begins at about 5pm.

530pm: In the tub with 'FALLEN' and listening to CHICK COREA.

Watched 'SAMPLE THIS' (Netflix). Largely about record producer Mike Viner's  Incredible Bongo Band, but also touches on Bobby Kennedy's assassination, The Charlie Manson Family, the single 'Apache', and the beginning of the entire Hip Hop genre of music.

Then 'SOUND EXPLORE: 'Nine Inch Nails' the song 'Hurt' (25"). A short Netflix series about particular 'important' singles. This one by NIN is the only one I had heard of, but I think that Johnny Cash's version of the song is more well known. Trent Reznor talks about how he wrote the song and what was going on in his life, but he won't say what it means. He believes that this is for the listener to decide.
