Tu 3/1/22- Raked Gum Balls
750am. 1010am (2 hits/bong). 3pm (a pinch). 745pm.
Up 630am: Bright and sunny with temps to low 60's.
Watched 'THE END OF THE TOUR' (Kanopy- will it count as February? I don't think so). A writer's road trip with a columnist from the Rolling Stone becomes an awkward bonding experience. It's a clever philosophical film about fame-crazed culture and striving to be authentic without appearing to try. Some of the most earnest dialog that I've heard and not the slightest bit hokey. Great footage of central Illinois during the winter that was almost like being there (wait a minute...I am there).
***Kanopy is still a pain in the ass. Refreshed several times during the 107 mins and I sent another email to Kanopy tech support.
And more of 'NEWTON'S CRADLE' (Netflix). I finished episode #24, and only five left. Muslim melodrama at its' finest.
120pm: PC is 'Off' and will rake the gum balls off the front lawn and put them in the big flower bed in the back.
130pm-230pm: Raking gum balls out front.
310pm: Parkview, Wash.Pk southside, Wiggins, Outer Park, Lincoln, Leland, Walnut, Wash.Pk northside, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 50 MINUTES...MP3...'Agartha'; 'Almost Free'; 1st THEM.
515pm: In the tub with 'WALDEN TWO' and listening to THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND- 'Idlewild South'; RICK JAMES- 'Street Songs'.
Watched 'POLY STYRENE: I Am A Cliche' (Hoopla- borrowed this morning). A profile of one of the leading exponents of the first wave of English Punk as told by her daughter. Poly is the product of a biracial marriage and was never black enough for the blacks or white enough for the whites. Punk gave her a place to fit in. She never was a real punk but something a little bit more substantial. Themes: 'germ free', 'plastic', 'sterile', 'boring', 'hopeless'. At the height of Xray-Spex she lost her mind after ditching the band. Extreme bipolarism was a major factor in her life, and then she met the Hari Krishnas. Numerous trips to various psych wards and then she was diagnosed with cancer and died. She could have been a real contender and an interesting yet obnoxious part of the film was how mean were the Sex Pistols. Sid Vicious locked Poly into a closet that he told her was the bathroom. She felt that the leaders of the punk movement, and Johnny Rotten in particular, never took her seriously.
940pm: PC is 'Off' and an early bed time tonight.
