Tu 3/22/22- Yearly Physical North Dirksen/Power Outage!

830am. 330pm (2 his/2 hitter). 710pm. 

Up 655am: Breezy with light rain/mist beginning this afternoon and rain is in the forecast through Thursday- temps to mid 50's.

Wrote up 'A DANCE AT THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE' by Lawrence Block for the blog.

Watched 'WALK HARD- THE DEWEY COX STORY' (Amazon Prime). I haven't laughed so hard in ages. The film chronicles the life of the musical superstar, Dewey Cox. Too many hysterical bits to describe and it's grounded in superbly silly comedy writing. It was so absurdly hilarious that I was kind of surprised to learn that this was a Judd Apatow production; with John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Margo Martindale, Kristen Wiig, Craig Robinson, Harold Ramis, Jack White (as Elvis Presley), Jackson Browne, Lyle Lovett, Ghostface Killah, Eddie Vedder, and Jack Black (as Paul McCartney). 

Began an episode of 'NEW SCOTLAND YARD FILES' (Amazon Prime).

1130am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a five mile walk on the treadmill. 


***OUTAGE: 1120am: Right as I was about to log off the power went out for a few seconds. TV came back on, but the PC was off the Internet. Pulled out the yellow cord and plugged it back, then a restart and back in business. No sound, then I had to manually turn it on. God I hate this shit.

***SECOND POWER OUTAGE

 1145am:  I was doing the five miles, but the power went off again. I got about 2.5 miles and then kaput. 

I needed to get out of the house, so I walked up to Kenyon, Parkview,  Greenview,  Fairway, and up to 940. POWER RESUMES while I was gone.

I did a weight set,  9 reps.

120pm: To Dr. Ellison

3 blood vials,  student nurse

Talked to Dr. Ellison for a few minutes. He bought his own gym equipment and doesn't go to the 'Y' much anymore.  I said that I wanted to be a little more proactive with the annual visit and he said that my health is well monitored via bloodwork.

I drove to White Oaks Mall via 55 south to 72 west to Vets and north to LA Fitness. The sign now says 'ESPORTA'. Same guy that sat at the front desk is still there and he remembered seeing me from a couple of years ago. I was already in the Esporta  system and  he gave me my 'number' so that I could access the Esporta app. Later I had no trouble downloading the app and registering.  

He said that LA Fitness always had wifi, but the owner of the franchise never 'turned it on' until a surgeon needed wifi access and then the policy changed. 

Home to hit my own treadmill:

340pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT Finished 'NEW SCOTLAND YARD FILES', and JOEY DIAZ on SKEPTIC TANK. 

515pm: In the tub with 'GEORGIANA' and listening to WILSON PICKETT; SAM & DAVE; EDDIE FLOYD.

Watched 'WINDFALL' (Netflix).  An arrogant multi-millionaire and his wife return to their vacation home to find a man robbing the place. The burglar holds them hostage, and mayhem ensues. A very classy and very black comedy; with Jason Segel, Lily Collins (daughter of Phil Collins and wife of the director of this movie), Jesse Plemons, and Omar Leyva.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
