Up 530am: A high of 98 degrees with an Excessive Heat Warning until 8pm Wednesday. "Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112."

***Just as I was leaving, Buddy threw up breakfast. He seemed OK and a bit anxious about whether he would be alright for a couple of hours. He was. 

645am: Walk to the library to return 'THE TERMINAL LIST' by Jack Carr. Out Governor and back Edwards...Almost 2 Hours...Mp3...Live CLIFFORD BROWN; Live GRATEFUL DEAD-'72 Germany. 

Watched 'THE HURT LOCKER' (Netflix). A profile of the bomb techs of Delta Company in Iraq, 2004. A surprising lack of bloodshed but the tension was off the charts; with Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes, and David Morse. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow. I had seen this before but a '95 Metascore' makes it easily worth another look. 

92 degrees at 1220pm and 'feels like' 102.

1225pm: PC is 'Off' and will put some more miles on the treadmill and watch more of 'STAY SWEET: Pray and Obey' (Netflix). 

Running Windows Updates on the living room PC. 

1240pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT and more of WARREN JEFFS plight and more of MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN on JOE ROGAN (Death Squad).

***Severe problems with the Windows Updates on the downstairs PC. IsBLH in my future? I let the machine run and at 615pm I got back online but it said that the Updates were 'paused', but I think all the changes were made. It's so fucking hot that I'm going to use the PC tonight and then let it run all night on the updates if necessary.  I let the downstairs PC run all Tuesday night and everything cleared at 6am on Wednesday morning. 

350pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT and watched 'THE G WORD' (NETFLIX) - Disease. The show says that after Trump became president all government health agency staff were cut to the bone and then the bosses quit. Americans were left with no one who knew what they were doing and then along came COVID19. The show makes the connection that it was so much Trump as it was Conservative philosophy. "Government is the problem, not the solution". 

450pm:  In the tub with THE NARROWS and listening to 7 WALKERS;  GARCIA & SAUNDERS- 'Sugar In My Soul'.

Got control of the downstairs PC and watched 'JAMESY BOY' (Amazon Prime). A romantic look at a young, bright white teenager who ends up in prison. He had been in and out of institutional care since he was six and although he doesn't really turn over a new leaf, he seems to take his life more seriously.  Before the ending credits it's revealed that James Burns is a real person and really turned his life around thanks to poetry.  A little too earnest, but worth a look;   Filmed slightly south of Baltimore, Md in Curtis Bay, Md and Brooklyn Park, Md.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
