Up 545am: Bright and sunny with temps to mid 80's.
Watched 'FRANCE' (Kanopy). France is the name of a contemporary Parisian news anchor who is the toast of the country. She fiercely interjects herself into every newsworthy event and claims that she is presenting the victims' point of view, but it's just unchecked narcissism on her part. The film is a broad and dark Art film that satirizes the news media and how it is used (and abused). The location scenes were beautiful and the costumes were absolutely stunning; with Lea Seydoux, Blanche Gardin, and Benjamin Biolay. Directed by Bruno Dumont. I really liked this one and it was a very ambitious film, although I think the following critique is valid.
From The New York Times: "While France remains interesting, thanks to Seydoux’s tough and resourceful performance, “France” loses its emotional force and its intellectual focus. A potentially insightful exploration of the loss of self in a media-saturated world amounts, in the end, to a series of shallow images."
Watched the last episode of 'ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR: Minute by Minute' (Netflix). Japanese strike force: 353 aircraft from 4 aircraft carriers. 2,400 American deaths.
1110am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a long walk.
1140am : Parkview, Wash. Pk. northside, Lincoln and across the park, Outer Park, Laurel, Country Club, Oakmont, Parkview, Kenyon, and down to 940...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES...EDDIE HINTON; 'They Might Be Drunk with ARI SHAFFIR.
Reading 'KINDRED' by Octavia Butler
350pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT. and began TOM SEGURA on J.R.E.
440pm: In the tub with 'KINDRED' and listening to ALBERT AYLER; CARLA BLEY.
Watched more of 'THE TERMINAL LIST' (Amazon Prime). The rest of episode #7 and all of #8 remain; about an hour and a half. I still think that the series is better than the novel and that's kind of unusual.
