***Janny sent me an email that Jan Belzer passed away yesterday. She died of a fast moving cancer and was only in the hospice for a week or so. Although I haven't seen or heard from her in over fifty years, it is still kind of sad. One night in the summer of 1967 I can remember sitting in a car in Jim Peterson's driveway with Richard Quinn and maybe a couple of other friends from Wheeling High School and I said that when I get to college I want to try marijuana and everyone else wanted to have sex. Jan and I were the first to have sex, and marijuana didn't happen until (not very much) later.

Up 650am: Partly sunny with temps to just over 80.

Watched 'THE ASSISTANT' (Netflix).  While spending ten years in prison a man's wife and son are murdered. At his release he meets a 'cousin' who is eager to help him exact his revenge and later we learn that the 'assistant' is just a very violent and competent figment of his imagination. Never in the slightest very believable and lots of 'chop-socky' yet the film's tone was more playful than serious. Filmed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Then I began 'VINCE GIORDANO: THERE'S A FUTURE IN THE PAST' (Amazon Prime). I  watched about a half hour of this documentary about bandleader and jazz chronicler, Vince Giordano as he tries to keep alive the jazz music of the 1920's and 1930's.

Read some of the details of tomorrow's appointment with Agnes Fenner; Second floor at 800 N. 1st.

1110am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk to Washington Park. I've cut down on the walks outside because they seem to aggravate the peroneal tendonitis in my right foot.

1145am: Parkview, Wash. Pk southside, Wiggins, Outer Park, Lincoln,

Weights/ 15 reps

415pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and began LOUIS C.K & JOE LIST on J.R.E.

5pm: In the tub with 'NIGHTMARE ALLEY' and listening to 'East West'- PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND; 'The Sun Is Shining Down'- JOHN MAYALL.

Watched Netflix disc 'ROADRUNNER: A FILM ABOUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN'.  A cinematic valentine to an existential hero. The reason he committed suicide was that the love of his life left him for another man? I know he 'never felt like he fit in', but it's still hard to accept that a man of his status and experience would allow an unfortunate love affair push him over the edge. Her name was 'Asia' and she pronounces it 'Aas-ia'.  That sounds more than a little pretentious.

Anxiety about tomorrow's doctor visit.
