Up 545am: Hot and hazy with temps to low 90's and rain beginning late this morning and continuing all night. The prediction is for heavy storms and we could be in for a wild ride. According to the rain gauge, just over two inches fell yesterday and fiercer storms are heading this way. 

***Sirens went off at 10am today, but it's Wednesday and it kind of freaked me out. Because of the storms yesterday, it was postponed to today. 

Watched 'FISH TANK' (Kanopy). Kitchen Sink Realism about a young girl's sordid and directionless life in the projects of East London. Mom takes a new boyfriend and he takes a liking to the daughter as well. In the end the young girl and her boyfriend leave for Wales, but their lives seem to be just one long 'dead-end street';  with Katie Jarvis, Michael Fassbender, and Kierston Wareing. Katie Jarvis who plays 'Mia' had dropped out of school and was unemployed when she was cast in the film. Filmed at Mardyke Estate which is about fifteen miles east of London (Rainham and Tilbury, Essex, UK)... "Life's a bitch and then you die, that's why we get high".

At 1045am it's already 89 with a 'feels like' of 105. I was going to walk to the County Market for a loaf of bread, but it's too hot. According to the radar map, a strong band of 'solid red/yellow' storms move though about 1pm and continue for a few hours.  The possibility of basement flooding is causing anxiety.

1050am: PC is 'Off' and will do the treadmill.  Because of the slight knee problem, today it will be a flat elevation and only to 4.0 speed

1120am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 0 SLANT and watched all of NEAL BRENNAN on HOWIE MANDEL, and began a THEO VON podcast.

Downstairs reading and finished 'ANIMAL FARM' and began 'SAMARITAN' by Richard Price.

About 245pm the first wave of strong storms rolled through and I could barely see the street. 

435pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 0 SLANT and more of 'WHITNEY CUMMINGS on J.R.E.

520pm:   In the tub with 'SAMARITAN' and listening to VAN MORRISON. 

Began the three part Netflix series 'TRAINWRECK WOODSTOCK '99' (Netflix).  Michael Lang, the promoter of Woodstock '69 tries it again thirty years later, only this time it has a more capitalistic vibe and things get dangerous. I shut it down near the beginning of episode 3.

More storms are moving through later tonight and early Thursday morning, but it doesn't look as dire as I had thought earlier in the day.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
