Watched 'OUT OF THE FURNACE' (Hoopla). It's a broad and gritty expose of the economic and social disaster caused by the collapse of the Steel Industry in The Keystone State. One brother is an honorable ex-con and his younger brother is a combat vet of the Iraq War who cannot reintegrate into society. However, bare-knuckle fighting with vicious hillbillies for cash in rural New Jersey is not the answer; with Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Sam Shepard, and Willem Dafoe.  Filmed in Braddock, PA- 10 miles west of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River. Christian Bale wore a tattoo of Braddock's ZIP code, '15104' on his neck..."Church ain't over until the snakes are back in the bag."

Then I began 'I'M NOT THERE' (Tubi-TV). Watched about 30" and The Brandenburgs arrived. This was Janny's first outing with her new hearing aids. 

11am-1210pm: Talked in the living room and they brought some more tomatoes. 

1215pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk to Washington Park.

Reading 'FALSE MEMORY'

325pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and finished TUESDAYS WITH STORIES and began A SKEPTIC TANK about SHROOMFEST.

Weights: 3 sets/ only 12 reps.

450pm: In the tub with 'FALSE MEMORY' and listening to HARD BOP Playlist.

Began Netflix disc 'DRIVE MY CAR'- 3 hour Japanese film on Criterion.  An actor/director and his screenwriter/ wife  appear the perfect couple until he catchs her having sex with another man. He doesn't seem to react and she later dies before she can tell him a secret. Strange presentation and screenplay and this makes for an odd film. I will see it through! Shut it down at 1 hr 13 mins.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Th 10/2/25- WYNK

 Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
