Tu 1/3/23- Buddy Very Sick

Tu 1/3/23

850am (B). 1220pm (2-B). 445pm (2-B). 705pm (2-B).

Up 7am: I don't know why I slept this long, but so be it.

However, Buddy was sick sometime during the night and he threw up breakfast #1. He hasn't touched either the Friskies or the dry food by 830am, but he seems OK, just very reserved. 845am: He ate a little and then threw it up and now he's resting on his seat on the computer table in the study. 1110am: I finally got him to eat more of the Friskies and we'll see if he keeps it down, it will be the first time this morning. He threw up again at 1145am so I called the vet.

She said to remove his food and water. I should try to feed him around 230pm and see if he keeps it down. I'll call at 3pm to tell her how it went.

I wrote a note to Janny that I would not be going to the 'Hillbilly Riviera' with them later this month. I told them that we can get together on Friday. I think I'll stop by the weed store on their end of town and buy some edibles.

Partly sunny with temps to mid 60's. And I started checking out how to get a US passport so that I can get that in the works. Apparently I can do it at the local post office.

Watched 'JACKKNIFE' (Tubi). {This pick was on Janny's recommendation}. A returned Vietnam war vet is trapped in a cycle of alcoholism and lives with his sister in their parents' ramshackle house. Both are toxically codependent and when her brother's 'friend' from the army shows up, everything is about to change. The film's message is that all three of them are in dire need of new direction and this could have easily slipped into melodrama but each of the leads were pitch perfect in their roles; with Robert De Niro, Kathy Baker, and Ed Harris. Filmed in Connecticut and Montreal, Canada.  Adapted by Stephen Metcalfe from his own play, 'STRANGE SNOW'.  It's another gem of a film that completely slipped under my radar...and, they were drinking MEISTER BRAU!

12pm: I'm going to shut down and take a walk and when I get back I'll see how Buddy is doing.

1235pm- 215pm-  Parkview,  Wash.Pk southside,  Wiggins,  Outer Park,  Lincoln, Leland,  Dial,  Wash.Pk northside,  up the hill,  Parkview,  Fairway,  and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES; listened (the entire walk) to MICHAEL SHERMER (editor in chief of SKEPTIC) on J.R.E.

***I tried to feed Buddy a small portion of Friskies, but he only drank water. I was to call the vet back at 3pm.

I called back at 315pm and he still wouldn't eat but no vomiting. They told me to just feed him small portions and call them in the morning.

***My medical supplies arrived from Aetna in a big cardboard box delivered by our mailman to the breezeway.

4pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and began NIKKI GLASER on NEAL BRENNAN.

***445pm: Buddy ate a small portion of Friskies. Will he keep it down? 645pm:  He kept it down but he is very lethargic. He's definitely going to the vet tomorrow because it's apparent that he's very sick.

450pm: In the tub with 'THE MATCH' and listening to 'JAZZ Playlist'; Early JETHRO TULL Playlist.

Upstairs tonight because I want to keep an eye on Buddy. He hasn't moved from his spot at the end of the couch close to the front door. Never has he acted like this. It's like he's shutting down. 835pm: He just got up and came over to me at the computer.

Watched more of 'EQUINOX' (Netflix).  Looks like the four missing students on 'the bus to nowhere' were involved in some kind of  Nordic Fertility Cult? Very odd and I hope that at the end of the series there is some kind of explanation. Angels, Demons, or Another Reality would all be acceptable answers. Shut it down at 15 minutes into episode #4.
