Watched 'JOHNNY' (Netflix). A Polish criminal is rehabilitated by a handicapped (and dying) Catholic priest. Worth a look and the film has an Art House tone, but maybe slightly ham-fisted... "The most important thing that we can give each other is 'time', our private time." From Polish Film Review:
"'JOHNNY' is based on the true story of Jan Kaczkowski , who founded a hospice and he passed away in 2016 at just 39 years old."
Finished 'THE CATHOLIC SCHOOL' (Netflix). A group of upper class boys in an Italian Catholic school rape and assault a couple of girls for the fun of it. Up until 1996 (the year of this incident) Italian law did not recognize rape as a crime against the person, but was considered a crime against against 'public morality'. After the rape and sexual assault against these two women (and the murder of one of them) the law was changed. How weird!
The film is based on a novel that was taken from an actual rape and murder that took place in 1975 in Rome- THE CIRCEO MASSACRE.
