 Fr 4/14/23

735am (B). 11am (2-B). 230pm (1-B). 440pm (2-B). 720pm (2-B).

Up 630am: Partly cloudy with temps to about 80.

Paid Cards

Last night I noticed on Amazon Prime Music an EP by 'Captain Beefheart' that I had never heard of. The reason the music was so radically different from his usual style is that the record I was listening to was by 'Captain Beyond'. Duh.

Watched 'OH BELINDA' (Netflix). A young self absorbed Turkish actress is cast in a shampoo commercial and she magically transforms into her character in the advertisement. Life as a middle class married woman with a husband and two young children is totally opposite of her former carefree life. A fantastic idea for a film and this was a decent effort, but it could have been so much better. Filmed in and around Istanbul, Turkey.

10am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hack away at some of the prairie grass in the back.

Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps

Cord problems: How to connect the trimmer to the extension cord?

1120am: To Ace...Fairway,  Monroe,  Governor,  Walnut,  Ace- no adaptor for the hedge trimmer & 5 leaf bag stickers: $10- Glenwood South to Wash.Pk,  southside,  up the hill,  Parkview,  Fairway,  and up to 940...TWO HOURS...Live GRATEFUL DEAD,  JEFF BECK GROUP, JOHN MAYALL.

***While on the walk I got a call from Cowan Epperson;  an $11,000 rebate- $3,000 state, $8,000 fed.

When I got home I drove to Cowan Epperson to sign & pay; $230.

To County Market for flowers for the planter, but they didn't have a clerk outside so no deal.

I brought the gas can so I got mower gas and topped off the Elantra.

2pm: reading 'MEXICO SET'

350pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT;  finished BIG JAY OAKERSON on TOM PAPA; began RYAN SICKLER on SKEPTIC TANK.

445pm:  In the tub with 'MEXICO SET' and listening to the CAPTAIN BEEFHEART Playlist; JAMES GANG- 'Bang' & 'Miami'.

More of RYAN SICKLER on SKEPTIC TANK.

Netflix discs 'ELVIS' & 'CRIMES AND MISTERMEANERS' in the mail today.

Began 'ELVIS'.  This is an extremely fictionalized portrait of Elvis and much of it is flat-out untrue. Elvis as a revered and popular figure at all the black clubs in Memphis is pure fantasy. Shut it down at 51 minutes, near chapter 7.Review from The Telegraph:" it’s the most impeccably styled and blaringly gaudy thing you’ll see all year, and all the more fun for it."
