Up 530am: Mostly sunny with temps to about 90.

Watered the flowers out front & decided to read 'ACT OF TREASON' for a while and then walk to Brewer at 730am for Buddy's gel-pens. At the last moment I decided to take the bike: aired up the back tire and left 940 at 725am and I was back home by 740am. Easy Peasy.

Watched 'DON'T WORRY, HE WON'T GET FAR ON FOOT' (Amazon Prime).  The story of John Callahan, a quadriplegic cartoonist who used biting satire to 'share enlightenment' with special needs people. He didn't care if it rubbed people the wrong way because as long as it was funny, he'd go with it; with Joaquin Phoenix, Jonah Hill, Rooney Mara, Jack Black, Kim Gordon, and Carrie Brownstein. Directed by Gus Van Sant. 6 nominations: "67" Metascore.  Two guys in wheelchairs face each other and one guy pulls a gun... "This town ain't accessible enough for both of us!".

Finished 'TURN OF THE TIDE' (Netflix). The main character and his gay buddy take a cargo ship off of the Azores and head for America,  but the girl with the purple hair decides not to go and stays home to have a (his?) baby. And, the uncle who couldn't make it in the US because Americans hate Portuguese people ends up with tons of cocaine (inside cans of fish).  The whole series was over the top, but I really liked it. So many good films are coming out of  the Iberian Peninsula. 

1150am: PC is 'Off' and today is the treadmill.

1210pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began 'Protect Our Parks' on J.R.E;  finished 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK; began LOUIS C.K on THEO VON.

Began 'THE GREEN GLOVE GANG' (Netflix). This one I couldn't continue and gave it a thumbs 'down'. Three very old women are doing heists from a nursing home???

***About 810pm Buddy got very sick. Vomiting clear liquid and he's been pretty subdued all day.

820pm: Shutting down early tonight to keep an eye on Buddy.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
