Watched 'WHELM' (Amazon Prime).  A very confusing, low budget Art House thriller that deals with two brothers, a mysterious stranger, a block of ice, an unsuccessful bank heist, and James Dillinger. The story and the presentation were intentionally unclear and I was left completely in the dark. 

Ordered another five pounds of rice at Amazon. It will be here in less than 24 hours, no delivery charge and less than half the price at County Market. 

Watched the rest of 'DUNKIRK' (Netflix). Directed by Christopher Nolan; with Barry Keoghan, Mark Rylance, and Tom Hardy. Won 3 Oscars; 65 wins & 232 nominations. "94" Metascore.

Wrote a short 'Chat'.

Began 'THE WONDER WEEKS' (Netflix). A comedy series about how clueless young Nordic couples deal with parenthood and I wasn't buying any of it, so.....

Began 'LIVING' (Netflix). Set in late 50's London England a straight-laced businessman nearing retirement learns he has only six to nine months left to live. I'll finish this tomorrow morning.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
