Up 530am: Mostly sunny with temps to upper 80's.

Used the scythe to cut down the patch of clover on the front lawn. It's going to be very hot for the next several days and if I mow, the lawn will burn out .  Now I'll be able to put off mowing until next week. 

***Before I got out of bed I checked the weather and was not getting an internet signal. It finally kicked on after I did a 'restart'. Working fine although not knowing why makes me very anxious.

7am: PC is 'Off' and will do the grocery shopping at Fairhills

720am:  To Fairhills and put away by 805am: $120

Watched 'TO LESLIE'  (Netflix). A wild & free single mother from very rural West Texas wins the lottery and it destroys her life. But much later, she finds a man who believes in her and he sets her on the straight and narrow. It was a long way down and her hellish journey was gritty and plausible, yet her redemption was a bit hard to believe. It was still very much worth a look; with Andrea Riseborough, Allison Janney, Andre Royo, and Marc Maron. Filmed in Rosamond, California which is 80 miles north of Los Angeles.

1115am: PC is 'Off' and will do the weights & then take a walk to Washington Park (before it gets too hot).

More of 'TURN OF THE TIDE' (Netflix). Evil dad gets harpooned after he and his crew shoot up the place with pistols and shotguns. This series is so over the top! I shut it down 7 minutes into episode #7- the final chapter.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
