We 7/12/23
710am (2-B). 940am (2-B). 1215pm (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 720pm (2-B).
Up 545am: Mostly sunny with temps in the upper 80's and the threat of extreme weather about 1pm.
Watched 'ONLY GOD FORGIVES' (Amazon Prime). Shot largely at night on the mean streets of Bangkok, Thailand the film is a strange and haunting Art Film about a mother and her two mobster sons. A local police detective takes his bloody revenge on mom and both of her sons; with Ryan Gosling and Kristin Scott Thomas.
"According to Nicolas Winding Refn, this movie is a thriller produced as a western, all in the Far East, and with a modern cowboy hero".
925am: PC is 'Off' and will hit the sidewalks ahead of the fierce storms that should hit about 1pm. Seems eerily similar to that Thursday 6/29 when the power went down for a long time. (And much later in the day I learned that we had dodged the bullet once again. No rain fell on Wednesday).
950am: The plan was to walk to Washington Park, Lincoln to Adams, {CVS- 2 tubes of toothpaste, B-Day present for Thomas (bowling pins: $10)}, Washington, Dickenson, Monroe, Fairway, and up to 940....ONE HOUR 45 MINUTES...ROLLING STONES Playlist; DAVID BOWIE Playlist.
I needed another film to make up for the absence of cinema input during the recent power outage.
Watched 'RUN RABBIT RUN' (Netflix). A young mother's five year old daughter thinks that she is her aunt? I didn't get it, but it was kind of a spooky ride mostly due to the location. Filmed in South Australia, Adelaide, Melbourne, Riverland, and Victoria. After watching a YouTube Review I realised that the woman had actually killed her sister and when her daughter reached the age of her dead sister, it was too much for her to take and mom went over the psychological edge.
Total Film: "Sadly, a generic script doesn’t aid the film’s overall ambitions. A little less than the sum of its parts, Run Rabbit Run is ultimately more intriguing than outright terrifying."
215pm: PC is 'Off' and reading 'KATE VAIDEN'.
345pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE; finished FRED ARMISEN on Blocks.
440pm: In the tub with 'KATE VAIDEN' and listening to T.REX- 'The Slider'; WHO- 'It's Hard'/'Face Dances'; JOHN MAYALL- 'A Hard Road'.
More of TOM SEGURA on Theo Von
More of 'PERDIDA' (Netflix). I shut it down 20 minutes into episode #3.
