Tu 9/26/23- Tree Branch in Front Lawn
740am (2-B). 1050am (1-SB). 1250pm (2-B). 545pm (2-B).
***Buddy did not get sick during the night. Yesterday I drastically reduced the amount of food he ate for the entire day. He probably had a little over a half can of Friskies/ Nine Lives. The vet said that only one of the small cans and half of a large can is the recommended serving for wet cat food. I had been giving him much more and maybe this has something to do with his stomach distress. I will continue limited rations today and it's after 1030am and Buddy hasn't gotten sick.
Up 615am: Mostly sunny with temps to lower 80's. Strong storms forecast for tonight.
Watched Netflix disc 'THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE'. It's the late 1940's in northern California and a local barber meets a man who convinces him to get into the new field of 'dry cleaning'. He blackmails his wife's employer (and lover) for the ten grand needed to partner in the new business and mayhem ensues. It's such a well written Film Noir that it's almost a parody of the genre; with Billy Bob Thornton, Frances McDormand, Michael Badalucco, James Gandolfini, Jon Polito, Scarlett Johansson, Tony Shalhoub, and Richard Jenkins. Nominated for 1 Oscar; 25 wins & 43 nominations. "73" Metascore. Set in Santa Rosa & Petaluma, California which is about 90 miles west of Sacramento.
More 'GOOD MORNING, VERONICA' (Netflix). I shut it down with about one hour left in Season #2. I will finish the series tonight.
1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to hit the treadmill. I'll leave the disc on the mailbox and if the mailman doesn't get it, so be it.
1250pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; TUESDAYS WITH STORIES- Mark does shrooms at a John Hiatt concert; more of 'THE CHURCH OF WHAT'S HAPPENING.
Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps; Dumbbells
***230pm: Heavy rain & the sun is shining brightly.
Reading 'DEAR CHILD'
455pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished RYAN SICKLER & JOEY DIAZ; began MARK NORMAND.
555pm: In the tub with 'DEAR CHILD' and listening to BAD COMPANY 'Best of '; MOUNTAIN 'Best of'; LED ZEPPELIN- 'Physical Graffiti'.
***While I was in the tub a huge branch fell in the front yard. About fifteen feet long and between the edge of the driveway and the big tree in the center of the yard. It's about where the postman usually parks and I'll be out tomorrow morning with the saw.
More of MARK NORMAND on Steve-O (Jackass). Watched part of the Stones (Ronnie, Keith, Mick) talk about the new album, 'Hackney Diamonds' with Jimmy Fallon.
Finished 'GOOD MORNING, VERONICA' (Netflix). The plotline for the next season is dropped during the final episode of season #2. Veronica travels to the small town where Claudio and the sex crazed evangelist were born. There is a third brother that might be the most evil of them all. They began filming the next season in the spring of this year. I can't wait.
