Watched 'THE LAST KINGDOM: Seven Kings Must Die' (Netflix).  A fairly tepid historical drama during the medieval era before England was united against the Danes and the Saxons. Set in Northumbria- an early medieval Anglo-Saxon kingdom in what is now Northern England and south-east Scotland. The film is the sequel to the first five seasons of the English TV series, 'THE LAST KINGDOM'...."You kill 100 fathers, you give 300 sons a reason to defy you."..."The people {of Bebbanburg} will not be divided by faith".

Finished 'SUBURRA- Blood On Rome' (Netflix). The ending was not nearly as explosive as I had hoped. Plot Twists: Blondie's black girlfriend is gunned down by his sister; the policeman's son decides to join the force; the gay mohawk guy picks up a guy in the park. I'll get started on season 2 at a later date.

More of '1994' (Netflix). The assassination of Mexican political reformer, Donaldo Colosio is still unresolved. They don't even know how many shooters were involved even though the entire event was captured on tape. Endless investigations by the authorities only made things more unclear. I'm still surprised that I'd never heard about any of this even though his death happened in Tijuana, Mexico which is just over the border from San Diego. The only thing that Americans hear about Mexico is 'illegal aliens' and nothing about who runs the country or how they do it. 

1215pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do five miles on the treadmill.

***While I was on the treadmill Buddy was sick on the counter in front of the coffee pot. However,  he seems fine. 

Finished Reading 'LOST LIGHT' by MICHAEL CONNELLY  and began 'SHAME THE DEVIL' by GEORGE PELECANOS.

440pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished SAM TALLENT on 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?'; began ALI MACOFSKY on MINDFUL METAL JACKET  

 540pm: In the tub with 'SHAME THE DEVIL' by GEORGE PELECANOS and listening to VAN MORRISON- 'A Period of Transition'/ Playlist.

Began 'SKY HIGH: The Series' (Netflix). I shut it down 25 minutes into episode #2. Another fine Spanish 'criminal enterprise' series.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
