Monday, Xmas Day
Monday, Xmas Day
720am (2-B). 845am (1-SB). 1040am (2-B). 815pm (2-B).
Up 6am: Light rain & drizzle all day with temps to mid 50's.
Watched 'THE MISSING' (Kanopy). Set in 1885 New Mexico and concerns a woman living alone with two daughters. They are attacked by a renegade band of Indians and one of the girls is kidnapped. The woman's estranged father has 'gone Indian' and leads the rescue of his granddaughter. Not a bad cowboy film, but a little heavy-handed with the 'Trafficking' angle; with Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett, Evan Rachel Wood, Max Perlich, and Aaron Eckhart and Val Kilmer in very small bit parts. Directed by Ron Howard. 2 wins & 8 nominations. "55" Metascore.
1030am: PC is 'Off' and preparing to do five miles on the treadmill so that I can get in 'the daily seven' before I leave for Glenwood- 430pm.
1045am: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched 'AMANDA KNOX' (Netflix). A young American girl vacationing in Perugia, Italy is involved in a lurid sex/ murder scandal. Actually, she wasn't even at the murder scene; I'll definitely watch the rest of the doc tonight; finished THEO VON'S Xmas Pod.
Reading & finished 'BIAS' by Dr. Jennifer Earnhardt and began 'Native Son' by Richard Wright
315pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began TOM SEGURA on 'TIGER BELLY'.
420pm- 730am: Xmas on Glenwood with just The Brandenburgs- {Red Oak, Glenwood, Andrew}. I had some wings, caramel candy, chocolate fudge, and a slice of chocolate pie.
More of TOM SEGURA on 'Tiger Belly'.
Finished 'AMANDA KNOX' (Netflix). The case went to the Italian Supreme Court and Amanda and her boyfriend (of five days before the murder) were exonerated, but I can't believe such bad police procedures and a ridiculous prosecution got as far as it did. There was no proof whatsoever concerning wild sex orgies or Amanda's lurid past. It was all more or less hearsay provided by the prosecution.
Began 'BODIES' (Netflix) {I decided not to revisit 'VIVANT' (Netflix)} I shut it down 42 minutes into episode #1. I'm hooked. The body of a dead naked man is found on the same London alley in three different eras- 1890, 1941, 2023.
