Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'FATHER STU' (Netflix). A small-time boxer from Montana travels to Hollywood to become an actor. He later decides to become a priest and when he learns that he's dying, it doesn't diminish his faith. The film is not exactly Catholic propaganda, but close; with Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, Jacki Weaver, and Teresa Ruiz. "40" Metascore; 2 wins & 2 nominations. 

Began 'NARCO FINANCE: How Cartels Have Taken Over The World Banks' (Amazon Prime). A low- budget examination of the situation and not the least bit nuanced or informative. "Drugs and Drug profits- BAD....Law Enforcement- GOOD".

1145am: PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hit Esporta.

Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps. 

1235pm:  To Esporta...45" Precor.  45"Treadmill.  30"Cross.  30"Recumbant Bike.  30"Precor;  watched 'GRAVITY' (Netflix)- SANDRA BULLOCK & GEORGE CLOONEY are in orbit and get caught in a meteor storm of satellite debris. She makes it back to Earth and he doesn't. Suspension of belief is a must;  watched 'POISONED: The Dirty Truth About Your Food' (Netflix)- 1992: 'Jack In The Box' served tainted meat and legislatures said hamburger meat must be cooked to 155 degrees. Seems low because boiling is 212 degrees. Peanuts and eggs carry many diseases. One CEO got a 28 year sentence.

Buddy threw up on the bathroom tile and it seems to be stained. I've given up worrying about it.  

Reading 'FUNERAL IN BERLIN'.

545pm:  In the tub with 'FUNERAL IN BERLIN' and listening to KING CRIMSON- 'Power To Believe'/ 'Thrak'.

More 'KUBRA' (Netflix). I shut it down 30 minutes into episode #3.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
