Mo 4/1/24

7am (2-B). 755am (1-SB). 10am (1.5-B). 1250pm (1.5-B). 540pm (2-B). 810pm (2-B).

Up 530am: Cloudy with storms predicted for this afternoon and evening with temps to low 70's.

Wrote some notes for the blog on 'BUTTERFIELD 8' by John O'Hara. Remember to check out 'LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS' by William Styron. It's available as an E-book from the library.

Watched 'LOVE LIFE' (Kanopy). A couple's young son drowns in the tub while the parents' celebrate the husband's father's 65th surprise birthday party. The boy was from the wife's previous marriage. Her first husband returns {out of the blue} and emotional mayhem ensues because he is a deaf Korean living on a visa in Japan and does not understand Japanese. This film was like nothing else. The cinematography was excellent and the story was complex and emotionally compelling. Filmed in Tokyo, Japan.

Began 'MIRANDA'S VICTIM' (Kanopy). The Miranda Case: Maricopa County, Arizona 1963. Miranda's confession to the rape was inadmissible even though he did it. I shut it down halfway, and I'll finish the remaining hour tomorrow. [Did 30" on the treadmill late this afternoon]

I wrote a short email to Janny. They should be in Orange Beach, Alabama today.

1230pm: PC is 'Off' and I'm preparing to hit the treadmill and then the weights.

1255pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished BILL BURR on 'Blocks'; began & finished KERRYN FEEHAN on 'MINDFUL METAL JACKET'.

Weights: 3 sets/ 15reps

Reading 'AMSTERDAM'

450pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; more of 'MIRANDA'S VICTIM' (Kanopy)- 30 minutes left and will finish tonight or tomorrow morning.

545pm: In the tub to finish 'AMSTERDAM' and and began 'FRANNY AND ZOOEY by J. D. Salinger & listening to GOLDEN PALOMINOS- 'Visions of Excess'; BLUE OYSTER CULT Playlist.

***The TV monitor said that there were 'no shows available' (I've never watched a single thing on my 'Free Smart TV)and I had to 'restart' the PC. Everything is working fine.

More of 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?'

More 'KALEIDOSCOPE' (Netflix). I shut it down 44 minutes into the fourth episode. The backstories are confusing, but each episode offers plenty and the plot is simple. How can this crew of misfits get 6 billion in non-traceable bearer bonds from a highly secure bank?
