Watched 'THE HANDMAIDEN' (Amazon Prime). {Directed by Park Chan-wook: 'OLDBOY'}.

PART I- A couple of grifters plot to steal a rich woman's money. He will get the woman to fall in love with him and his female partner will become her maid. After the man marries the rich woman he has the rich woman committed to a mental asylum.

PART II- In this version the man still comes out on top only he puts his female partner in the nuthouse. He and the rich lady have become a real couple.

PART III- The maid and the rich lady are in love and live happily ever after.

Won 1 BAFTA Award; 69 wins & 104 nominations. "85" Metascore.

Based on the novel 'FINGERSMITH' by Sarah Waters (2002) and the book is set in 19th century London. The film is set during Japanese colonial rule during the 1930's... "Ladies truly are the dolls of maids".

Watched 'KILLED BY A RICH KID' (Amazon Prime- 1' 11"). Three friends walk down a suburban street in a wealthy suburb of Manchester. One of the boys is stabbed to death and it can't be proven what exactly happened. One of the boys admits to the stabbing, but pleads self defense and there is no evidence to say otherwise. A strange decision yet not surprising. Apparently, in England this is known as 'knife crime'. Not so popular in the states as we have an adequate supply of guns.

More 'CROOKS' (Netflix). I shut it down 35 minutes into episode #5. Compelling bad guys abound yet the fistfights are too over the top to be taken seriously.

Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.
