Watched 'THE SENSE OF AN ENDING' (Amazon Prime).  A retired man (his shop sold vintage Lieca cameras) living in London receives a letter notifying him that he has inherited something from an old girlfriend. It's a diary from a male friend who committed suicide. A complex yet compelling story about love, betrayal and nostalgia for the past..."I who neither won nor lost, who avoided being hurt and called it a capacity for survival";  with Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, and Emily Mortimer.

From 'IndieWire': "...gets to the core of the slipperiness of memory and the allure of the past". "61" Metascore and I would have bumped it up to about "70". 

930am- 1030am: Began to work on the call to Boston about the passport. I called the office of vital records and left word and a guy called me back within a few minutes. He gave me the website {vitalchek.com} and I submitted my request. I should get it back within 10-14 days. Then, I should call Ashley at 217 747 5183.

***The vital records office would not accept my primary credit card. I used the card in the glovebox (4460) and it went right through.

An exhausting experience and I hope I get the copy before the clock runs out. I have three months from August 1st. 

Made the rice and watched more of 'BETWEEN LANDS' (Netflix). I shut it down 26 minutes into episode #9. I'll finish the series tomorrow morning, and tonight I'll begin something else.

Began 'WOMEN OF THE NIGHT' (Netflix). I shut it down 22 minutes into episode #2. An attractive professional woman runs an escort service and her husband is in local government on a platform of reform. I'm hooked. It's a Dutch series filmed in Croatia.

A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
