Weekly Cleaning

Around noon the guys finished up the remodeling job next door. They removed the trailer that was loaded with broken sheetrock, a bathtub, and old tiles. I wonder if the woman is satisfied with the work?

Correction: They must have just gone to lunch because they came back and worked till 4pm. The trailer & trash will not be missed. 

Watched 'SAVI' (Netflix). A successful Indian contractor from Liverpool is convicted of a murder that he did not commit. His appeal is rejected, so his wife contacts a famous crime novelist to help her spring her hubby from prison. Happy, sad, violent, sexy, musical, and comedic and the film strains just a bit while trying to touch all emotional bases, but that's the nature of Bollywood.  Set and shot in Liverpool, England. Not a fan of Bollywood, but this was tolerable because of the British setting. 

Watched 'THE YEAR I STARTED MASTURBATING' (Netflix). A woman wants to get pregnant and she's shocked to learn that her husband wants a divorce.  Kind of a muddled expression of 'Female Empowerment' that basically promotes the idea that a woman must "Prioritize Your Pussy" in order to have a satisfying life. Not to be taken seriously by anyone over the age of seven. Set in Sodermalm which is an island just south of the center of Stockholm, Sweden."...A relaxed, creative vib, with artsy shops, eclectic cafes and stylish Fotografiska (a contemporary photography museum)".

110pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the treadmill today. Tomorrow I hope to visit the county building and take care of the passport registration. 

140pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT;  watched 'Blocks'.

I took a break from 'THE LACUNA' and began 'GONE TO SOLDIERS' by MARGE PIERCY. 

450pm: MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO; JOEY DIAZ talks skiing with ARI SHAFFIR. 

545pm: In the tub with 'GONE TO SOLDIERS' and listening to LEE MORGAN- 'Sidewinder'; HUMBLE PIE- 'Hot & Nasty'; ALICE IN CHAINS- 'Dirt'.

More of 'BORGEN: Power & Glory' (Netflix). I shut it down 15 minutes into episode #3. Interesting Scene: Drinking gin and tonics on the shore and using ice from the frigid harbor. "The ice is cracking in our drinks and releasing bubbles that are two or three thousand years old"..."God's farts".

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
