 Th 9/5/24

650am (2-LB). 8am (1/2-LB). 950am (1/2-B). 110pm (2-LB). 440pm (1-LB). 535pm (2-LB). 815pm (2-LB).

Up 520am: Bright & sunny with temps to upper 80's.

Watched 'EASTERN PROMISES' (Amazon Prime). Russian mobsters flex their power on the streets of London. The old mafia chief''s son is a gay rageaholic and he's gotta go, and his second in command wants to take his place. A sexy midwife holds an incriminating diary that demonstrates illegal activity by the mob and she wants to trade the info for a whore's newborn baby..."Slaves give birth to slaves". I knew I had seen it before, but didn't really click until the legendary 'knife fight in the steam room' scene; with Naomi Watts, Viggo Mortensen, Armin Mueller-Stahl, and Vincent Cassel. Directed by David Cronenberg. Nominated for 1 Oscar; 28 wins & 74 nominations. "83" Metascore and that's about where I'd rate it. .

***Sent a short note to Janny about missing last night's ball game with the kids at the local middle school.

Watched the first episode of 'CAUGHT IN THE WEB: The Murders Behind Zona Divas' (Netflix). It's about an escort service that began in Venezuela and spread to Mexico.  'Zona Divas' just handles the publicity and everything else is strictly voluntary, but the women are forced to run up enormous debt.  The management style is very close to 'human trafficking' (if not identical) and if the owners were smart and fairly shared the massive profits with the women, they could probably make it legit..."Sure was a good idea 'til greed got in the way".

Watched 'CREAM: Disraeli Gears' (Amazon Prime: 45"). Pete Brown (lyricist) was a beatnik performance artist before he connected with the band.  Jack Bruce played bass on Manfred Mann's 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy' record. The first album had Jack Bruce as lead vocalist and 'Disraeli Gears' featured Clapton singing the leads. At the time of the first album Clapton was into 'Dadaism'- poetry and art that is satirical and nonsensical.

1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to walk the treadmill and watch 'TUESDAYS'.

Assembled the garden lights and put the tops out behind the garage to charge.EZ

Reading 'TWEAK'

Put out the garden lights front & back

440pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; ARI SHAFFIR interview.
