I borrowed 'THE BRASS TEAPOT' and 'MRS. PARKER' from Hoopla.

Watched 'MRS. PARKER' (Hoopla). A terrific film about the sharp and sardonic writers who drank, fought, and socialized at the Round Table in the Algonquin Hotel in 1920's New York. Barbs and quips are non stop and the acerbic banter never quits; Jennifer Jason Leigh, Campbell Scott, Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Beals, Wallace Shawn, Martha Plimpton, Lili Taylor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Heather Graham, Stanley Toucci, Keith Carradine. 2 wins & 8 nominations. "66" Metascore and I would go to "82".  

Watched 'COLLATERAL' (Netflix). A fairly average thriller about a taxicab driver in Los Angeles who is commandeered by a hitman.  The hitman thinks he's picked an easy mark, but the cabbie proves that he's tougher than he looks. Some interesting characters and nice locations on the seedy & dark side of The City of Angels; with Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Ruffalo. Directed by Michael Mann. 22 wins & 73 nominations. "71" Metascore and I would boost it to "74".  

***I just checked 'Orders' at Amazon and I saw that the moccasins were delivered yesterday on the front stoop.

115pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT;  Xmas special with JOE LIST on 'STAVVY'S WORLD'.

540pm: In the tub with 'BEHOLD THE SPIRIT' by ALAN WATTS {too dry and back to Ludlum} and listening to MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA Playlist; WEATHER REPORT- The Essentials. 

Finished JOE LIST on 'STAVVY'S WORLD', a worthless YouTube video on vaping, and began an old 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

More of 'HER MOTHER'S KILLER' (Netflix). I shut it down 38 minutes into episode #2. The melodrama is bubbling and Latino soaps are by far the most emotional. I decided to wait before beginning the next season of 'MAESTRO IN BLUE' (Netflix).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
