Up 535am: Cloudy & snow showers this morning and temps to mid 20's. [About an inch of flurries].

Watched 'EILEEN' (Kanopy- borrowed late last week). A strange film about a depressed young woman who works in a youth prison in Massachusetts and in her off hours she takes care of her ex-cop alcoholic father. She meets a woman who is the new chief psychiatrist at the facility and there seems to be a sexual attraction between the two women. They become involved in a very odd and unnecessary muder, but the shrink flees and this causes (?) the young woman to finally develop the guts to leave her lackluster life behind;  with Thomasin McKenzie, Shea Whigham, and Anne Hathaway. One win & 8 nominations. "72" Metascore and I would put it slightly lower- "68".  The film didn't make much sense and was based on a novel by the co-screenwriter. Filmed in New Jersey. 

***9am flurries developed into snow squalls and we've got snow on the lawns and streets. I had planned to hit Planet Fitness, but I'm not leaving the house. And, I hope the conditions are much better for the dental appointment tomorrow afternoon. 

***1st time for the gas fireplace this season. It turned off after a few minutes, but when I restarted, it seemed to run uninterrupted (45"). 

Finished 'THE MADNESS' (Netflix). Ended on a strange note because a person only peripherally connected to the action did the 'righteous' killing of the corrupt billionaire, yet this deed didn't heal or stop the 'badness' of the world (kinda corny). But, I did like the Rap version of Buffalo Springfield's 'For What It's Worth' as the final credits rolled.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
