Watched 'RIPHAGEN: The Untouchable' (Netflix). Dries Riphagen was a criminal boss from the Netherlands who collaborated with the Nazis during WWII. He lied to Jews in hiding that he was their friend and that he would safeguard their valuables. Once he had the stuff, he had them sent 'to Poland'.  After the war he managed to get to Argentina and he advised The Perons on how to set up their secret police. Riphagen died in a clinic in Montreux, Switzerland in 1973. This guy was truly evil and amassed a fortune of stolen Jewish owned diamonds, gold, and jewelry that he was able to take with him when he fled Europe. A superior film about a reprehensible figure from WWII.   

Finished 'LA PALMA' (Netflix). "Is La Palma based on a true story? No, it's fictional — but the island of La Palma is real, and so is Cumbre Vieja, the most active volcano on the Canary Islands. It last erupted in 2021." I wonder if an island that small could cause a tsunami big enough to reach the US and cause devastation?

Finished 'THE KINGS OF TUPELO: A Southern Crime Saga' (Netflix).  This was not one of my favorites, and I was expecting a lot more. I guess it was too hard to believe, but I don't doubt that there are real characters just as petty and selfish. 

140pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a session on the treadmill. Time flies when you're semi-stupefied and running way behind and enjoying every minute of it (high).  

215pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; more TIM DILLON on J.R.E.  

535pm: In the tub with 'TRUTH OR DIE' and listening to ELVIN JONES Playlist; CLASH- 'From Here To Eternity'; CHICAGO- 'The Guitar of Terry Kath'.

Began 'THE MIRE' (Netflix).  I shut it down 21 minutes into episode #2. Beautifully shot, yet the plot is elusive. This is season #3 and maybe missing pieces were revealed in the previous two seasons.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
