***9am: A fine & powdery snow has been falling steadily with about 3" on the ground and still coming down fast and furious. 

Watched 'JUST THE TWO OF US' (Kanopy).  It's a fresh & believable profile of a woman caught in an abusive domestic situation. In the beginning he was loving and attentive, but over time he became far too exacting and demanding. He knew he was asking far too much from her, yet he believed that it was her fault for displaying such weakness to his controlling behavior. The film ends as they enter divorce court and she almost gives into his plea that he 'loved her, but only loved her badly'.  A thought provoking & realistic drama that was mesmerizing. 1 win & 4 nominations; "65" Metascore and I would have gone to "88".

Watched 'RISE OF THE FOOTSOLDIER' (Amazon Prime).  A guy and his pals start as football hooligans and morph into a pack of violent racketeers. This is based on the life of a real English mobster, but this was so over the top it was hard to believe... "As close to god as chemically possible". Set in Essex which is a county in the UK northeast of London along the coast.

More 'GANGS OF LONDON' (Netflix). I shut it down 45 minutes into episode #9. I'll start another series tonight and finish this one tomorrow.

120pm: Running late and preparing for a walk on the treadmill.

Finished 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Began 'AMERICAN PRIMEVAL' (Netflix). I shut it down 25 minutes into episode #2. The American West is portrayed as a circle of Hell that's relentlessly violent and has lots of mud. This is a real change of pace.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
