***I noticed in an email that the very late weed delivery from SECRET NATURE will be arriving late this morning or early this afternoon. Bad weather and the California wildfires were the reason for the delay. I placed the order on 1/13 and the postal updates were more than I expected. One notice about every 24 hrs.  {It arrived in this afternoon's mail}

Watched 'GOEBBELS AND THE FUHRER' (Hoopla). I had seen this one before, but it was well worth a second viewing. Goebbels wanted to be remembered, but he didn't want any information about 'how he did it' to be retained. February 3, 1943- Goebbels gives the 'Total War' speech. This ended any sort of diplomacy and non-essential private sector businesses were re-tooled to aid  the war effort. He amped up the entertainment industry by 80%. Newsreels were carefully crafted to promote the party agenda and fictional works would be blatantly designed to highlight the imagined flaws of the Jewish race. The Jews were portrayed as sub-human and that they have been plotting and sabotaging the Aryan's right of sovereignty for all of recorded history. Hitler got Goebbels and his wife to sign contracts to keep their marriage together. They were 'The Nazis's First Family' and a divorce would besmirch the Nazi brand. The movie was a little clunky, but the message was direct and horrifying. "It happened once, and it could happen again". 

***11am: I noticed a black and white cat (the girls' cat?) sitting on the welcome mat of the old couple's house across the street. He's just stretched out and basking in the sun. He's a dead ringer for Buddy and when the couple pulled out of the garage he ran away. 

Watched 'CLEAN' (Kanopy). A pretty average 'Revenge' genre film. A garbage truck driver in Utica, New York becomes involved with a violent drug dealing gang. He's proficient with his fists, knives, shotguns, and a pipe wrench. The film includes a passable hatchet fight and a nice sequence where he drives his garbage truck through the wall of the gang leader's house; Adrien Brody co-wrote, co-directed, and wrote the musical score for the film. "44" Metascroe and I would put it around "74".

1245pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hit Planet Fitness for a workout.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
