Up 615am: Mostly cloudy & breezy with temps only to upper 20's. 

Watched 'I USED TO BE FUNNY' (Kanopy). A little too slow paced, but a decent dramedy about a female standup who is depressed and needs some 'alone time'. She's an 'au pair' (standup is a side gig, but her ultimate goal) for a fourteen year old girl whose mother is hospitalized and dying and her father is a cop with irregular hours. One evening the dad has forced sex with the live-in au pair and she turns him in and he gets five years. The rape and the courtroom drama is largely ignored and it would have made for a better film if these important story points were more developed. "74" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it. Shot in Toronto, Canada and featured 'The Comedy Bar'.   

Began 'THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT' (Netflix).  Nick Cage spoofs himself and his 'movie star persona' and although it's an odd premise for a film, the gag works. I shut it down with about 35 minutes left and I'll finish it on the machines at Esporta. 

1140am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hit Esporta. After the workout I'll stop at Schnucks for beer/soda/apples.

1230pm: To Esporta...[ESPORTA CLOSES EARLY ON WEEKENDS!!!]...To Planet Fitness;  45"Cross,  45"Treadmill,  30" Recumbent Bike;  15" Treadmill,  30"Cross;   watched 2 episodes of 'DEEP UNDERCOVER' (Amazon Prime); finished the NICOLAS CAGE spoof; watched a 'COLD CASE FILES' (Netflix)- Pearl Harbor survivor is murdered...TWO HOURS AND 45 MINUTES.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
