***Yesterday I noticed in an email that my Amazon Prime will go up one dollar per month. Money well spent. 

Watched 'KWIK STOP' (Amazon Prime). A fantastic B-movie about a young man who is on his way to Hollywood to become a film star.  He meets a young woman after she caught him stealing a tube of toothpaste at the local convenience store. They share a dalliance, but he goes back to reconnect with his last girlfriend. Later he faces a dilemma. Two women love him and he picks the one who is not pregnant with his kid. It's far more complicated than that, but he leaves the story and the young pregnant woman hooks up with a lonely alcoholic and we follow her story.  It's a very different tale of Love & Romance and I loved it. It was included in Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival and Michael Gilio directs and stars in the film. 2 wins & 3 nominations. "62" Metascore and I would go to "87".  Filmed in and around Chicago. 

Watched 'WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS?' (Amazon Prime).  The reason they went on the State Department's tour of Eastern Europe was to keep the lead singer from being deported back to Canada. The reason that they weren't in the Woodstock movie was that their manager wanted more money and the filmmakers wouldn't pay. This was a big loss for the band because if they had been in the film their popularity would have skyrocketed. I shut it down at 53 minutes.

Watched a couple of YouTube videos; 1) Stop with the elaborate packaging for the dispensary! 2) Guy quit smoking every day for 7 years and that is not my experience at all. Why are most of the YouTube videos against cannabis? However, Seth Rogan's video couldn't say a single negative thing about the subject of pot.

I was going to watch more 'PUBLIC DISORDER' (Netflix), but on a whim I began 'PINEAPPLE EXPRESS' (Peacock).  A stoner process server and his pot dealer get involved in a murder and this uncovers corruption at the top of the police department. Some of the film is flat out hilarious; with Seth Rogen, James Franco, Gary Cole, Danny McBride, Kevin Corrigan, Craig Robinson, Rosie Perez, Ed Begley Jr., Bobby Lee. 2 wins & 15 nominations. "64" Metascore and I would go to "83". Checking out a large bud..."smells like god's vagina". Seth Rogan's character is a process server and the other guy calls it a 'protest servant'. I shut it down at 1 hr and 6 minutes.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
