Up 530am: Cloudy and frigid with temps only to mid teens. A 'cold weather advisory' in effect until noon tomorrow and wind chills expected to be 20 below zero. {A little before sunset and through early evening we had flurries that accumulated to about an inch and a half. It's so cold that every single flake that fell stuck.}

Began notes for 'The Chat' concerning the EMT's next door on Saturday morning. 

Watched 'THE VOURDALAK'(Hoopla). A young & callow member of the French court takes refuge with a weird family after he was robbed in the spooky Balkans. 'Granddad' is some kind of skeletal vampire (obviously a prop) and his interactions with the others turns the film into a Black Comedy that's still very much weird and clever. 1 win & 3 nominations. "76" Metascore and I would go to "83".

Finished 'CASSANDRA' (Netflix). A classy SciFi series that was intriguing to the eye and extra points for being different.  

The PC is 'Off' and it's another day on the treadmill. It's far too cold to venture outside, and it looks like that's the weather for the next several days.

More 'APPLE CIDER VINEGAR' (Netflix). I shut it down 12 minutes into episode #3. Who polices the Influencers? A very interesting fictionalized account of a serious subject. This would work just as well as a documentary about false claims on health websites.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
