Watched 'LOST HIGHWAY' (Kanopy- borrowed yesterday). I thought it was more of a Surreal Black Comedy that was pretty clumsy with the noirish themes- 1) The Duality of Good & Evil 2) Perverse Sexual Desire. Although some of the dialogue is flat out hilarious and the sets, characters, and tone are painstakingly crafted to be as spooky as possible. 4 wins & 6 nominations. "53" and I would go to "83" just for the outrageousness. First line of the film- "Laurent is dead"....Tailgating scene in the Hollywood Hills- "I want you to get a driver's manual and read that motherfucker".

Finished 'PUBLIC DISORDER' (Netflix). There isn't any reason for another season, but that doesn't mean that there will not be season #2. Is it common practice in Europe to have a SWAT team always on duty? Does Springfield have a SWAT team that is active on a daily basis or does the unit do regular cop stuff most of the time?

Began 'THE HELICOPTER HEIST' (Netflix).  Finally a series that will be well worth 'two thumbs up'. A guy loses everything in a scheme involving the sale of fresh shrimp and feels that he's forced back into a life of crime. The guy owes 5 million Swedish krona on the failed frozen fish deal which is a little over $450,000 USD.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
