Up 605am: Cloudy with light 'rain/ mist' for most of the day and temps to upper 30's. When I got up there was a light glaze of ice on everything and Westview looked very slick. 

Watched 'ODDITY' (Hoopla). So odd- not much of a resolution of the storyline, but what a ride. It's got it all, a creepy English mansion, a sinister mental asylum, a blind psychic, and a lifesize wooden figure with murderous intent. 6 wins & 9 nominations. "78" Metascore and I would go to "86".  

***1015am-1030am: Two Springfield fire engines (#8 & #7) and one American ambulance. I was watching a commercial on Tubi and for several seconds I thought that the siren was in the ad. It looked like her helper (the woman with the long gray hair) was trying to take her to the hospital when the old woman suffered some kind of attack. Several EMT's seemed to be pounding on her chest and I still don't know if I watched the woman next door die. When they got her into the ambulance they didn't seem to be in any hurry to get to the hospital. The black woman and kids showed up while the emergency vehicles were working on the old woman. They never got out of the car and the little girl was standing at the passenger side door transfixed. 

Watched 'LONE STAR' (Tubi). A very classy 90's Film Noir set on the American/ Mexico border. A body is found in the desert and it looks like it belonged to the corrupt town sheriff from over forty years ago.  He had been missing for decades and was believed to have fled town after stealing $10,000 from the city treasury. The current sheriff is on the case and it looks like his father was the murderer. At the end of the film the new sheriff learns that he is in love with his sister! They agree to stay together and 'forget the Alamo'. A really fantastic film with some interesting takes on race, 'The Border', and even what's taught as History in schools.  I re-watched the film after hearing Sam Morril talk about it on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'; with Chris Cooper, Elizabeth Pena, Kris Kristofferson, Maththew McConaughey, Joe Morton, Francis McDormand. Directed by John Sayles. 15 wins & 19 nominations. "79" Metascore and I would boost it to "89"... "If a body is found it is called a 'skinny' or a 'stinky'".

125pm: The PC is 'Off' and another day on the treadmill.

145pm: FIVE MILES  TO 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; ARE YOU GARBAGE?  with a female sports announcer from Natick, MA.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
