715am: The rushes are coming...This level (approx. 75 mg) provides a formidable buzz  without psychic decapitation.  

Watched 'GOLD RUN' (Kanopy).  The Germans invaded Norway in 1940 and the Norwegian National Treasury must be removed from the country.  First, the gold shipment was going to Lillehammer, Norway from Oslo; 115 miles. Then, Lillehammer to Åndalsnes, Norway; 160 miles. Final destination Molde, Norway and the British take it from there. The movie concerns the logistics of transporting that big of a load (50 metric tons) and to keep it all accounted for. It's a celebration of an accountant's point of view. Everything must be duly noted and all accounts balanced. There is an article in Wikipedia about the incident: 'Flight of the Norwegian National Treasury' and it looks like the film is pretty accurate. The poet, Nordahl Greig wrote a famous poem about the event and he really wasn't part of the operation. He escaped to the United Kingdom on board the same vessel as the gold.  

Watched 'LOVE FOREVER' (Netflix).  Wedding procedures cause sophisticates from Stockholm, Sweden to clash with the lovable 'Deplorables' on the island of Gotland. The couple decide 'not' to tie the knot and the bride's mother ditches her husband and takes up with the priest. I didn't see any of that coming. Very deeply Swedish and probably more forgettable than odd. Set in the Swedish island of Gotland which is off the coast of far southeastern Sweden.

1pm: The PC is 'Off' and it's another day on the treadmill. The temperature won't get out of the teens for several days. Soon I'll have to break down and visit a health club, but not today even though it's a toasty 24. 

130pm: FIVE MILES TO 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched a 17" YouTube video about gas station mushrooms;  WE MIGHT BE DRUNK with JOE LIST. 

The new couple are moving in across the street.

Finished JOE LIST on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Began 'APPLE CIDER VINEGAR' (Netflix). "A true story based on a lie".  So many 'pretty' websites claim that they have the cure for cancer. Quote: "90% of American oncologists would not submit to chemotherapy if it was recommended". Will finish 'CASSANDRA' (Netflix) down the line.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
