Up 530am: Frigid, breezy & cloudy with temps to mid teens. A 'cold weather advisory' is in effect and wind chills to 10-15 degrees below zero.   

Watched 'UN PROPHETE' (Netflix-leaving soon). A terrific French prison film. A seventeen year old Arab/Muslim youth lands in prison and becomes the French/Corsican bossman's servant. But in the end, the kid becomes the top dog. It sounds cliche, but it seemed fresh and realistic. Nominated for 1 Oscar; 52 wins & 57 nominations. "90" Metascore and that's where I'd put it.

Watched 'AFTERMATH' (Netflix).  Homegrown terrorists violently take control of a major Boston bridge and a young ex- Special Forces soldier and his sister fight back.  It's a 'B- Movie' and about what you would expect from a movie that might have been inspired from a 'graphic novel'. The Tobin Bridge is in Boston and runs into the Bunker Hill Monument area of the city.

The plan is to hit the treadmill. It's nice & bright, but far too cold.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
