Up 6am: A mix of sun & clouds with temps just over 80. A 'wind advisory' and the threat of very strong storms for tonight. Only one more reason to ramp up the anxiety and I still haven't gotten the call from Fenner's office about the test results. {No call...Welcome To The Weekend}
Watched 'THE BEAST' (Kanopy). Unbelievable! Another film about 'love through the ages' via a 'time travel' genre film. The film concerns a woman in the mid 21st century who 'transports' back to previous incarnations in the 19th century. She was 'an accomplished pianist who owns a doll factory' (none of this might be true) and is having her DNA 'purified' so that all of her negative influences will be eliminated. It also could be a 'karmic' readjustment which would attempt to rectify her mistakes in prior lives. Her quest involves a man (not her husband) who seems to be the love of her life throughout time. Those are just some rough notes on the first half of the film and in the second half the setting is now in contemporary Los Angeles. The heroine is house sitting in a luxurious ultra modern mansion. During a minor earthquake she again meets her lover... {'Is your fear of me greater than your love for me?"}... He shoots her dead and leaves her body floating in the pool. Next she visits a club called '1963' (or the actual era) and he is also there and when he admits his love for her she freaks out and screams. Finis...Was he 'the beast' or was 'the beast' her intense fear of love that caused her trauma? The film was too unfocused with too many disparate ideas and although it was very ambitious, I didn't connect; with Lea Seydoux, George MacKay. Directed by Bertrand Bonello. 10 wins & 36 nominations. "80" Metascore and I would only go to "73". From 'Variety': "“The Beast” instead coagulates into a thick 146-minute triptych of general, fidgeting malaise, and strands a hard-working Léa Seydoux and George MacKay in a cross-time, cross-purposes relationship that keeps shape-shifting without getting us terribly involved."
The new guy across the street has had a lawn crew working on his lawn all morning. It included an extensive 'Spring Clean Up' and they sucked up a large branch pile that was out front yesterday. He removed a bunch of evergreen shrubs and I wonder if the city would have removed it. Isn't that branch pickup?
Finished 'THE UNLIKELY MURDERER' (Netflix). Stig Engstrom worked at Skandia which was a large Swedish financial services corporation that provided insurance, banking and asset management services. The real Stig Engstrom committed suicide in 2000 and in 2020 authorities declared that he was the assassin and closed the investigation. Robert Gustafsson played Stig Engstrom and he is a comedian known as 'the funniest man in Sweden'.
1250pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to hit the treadmill. The wind has picked up, but it's still sunny. It looks like the potentially violent weather begins around 10pm and lasts a couple of hours.

***It looks like all hell will break out between 10pm through midnight. Very heavy rain and they say as much as three inches could fall with wind gusts to 50mph. We are under a 'tornado watch' from 8pm until 3am Saturday morning.
More of WILLIAM H. MACY on 'BLOCKS'.
Began 'JUST ONE LOOK' (Netflix). It's a Polish series that's based on a Harlan Coben novel. The Europeans really dig some Coben. I shut it down 14 minutes into episode #2.
