Up 550am: The heat wave is here! Today a mix of sun & clouds with temps to almost 90. HEAT ADVISORY in effect from noon Saturday to 7pm Tuesday with heat index values around 105.

Watched 'HOW I BECAME A GANGSTER' (Netflix).  A Gangster Genre film that charts the rise of  a shrewd criminal within the Polish mafia. After the fall of Communism the criminal underground was more powerful than the national government and they ruled the country. The protagonist drives his father's taxi as a cover for his ring of prostitutes before he extends his control to other lucrative and illegal enterprises. I had seen this one before (I was looking for 'ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD'- not on Netflix) and it was well worth a second look. 

Watched 'SPUN' (Tubi).  Three days in the lives of a few low-rent speedfreaks who continually seek out & score home cooked meth under the warm California sun; with Jason Schwartzman, John Leguizamo, Patrick Fugit, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, Mena Suvari, Debbie Harry, Eric Roberts. Music by Billy Corgan. "41" Metascore and I would go at least to "76". From The Washington Post: "It's like the longest just-say-no commercial in history, only you'd say no not because drugs are evil but because you don't want to get a serious foot fungus."This was probably at least my third time with this one and always worth a look... Unhinged & unrelenting low-rent psychedelic balderdash.
