Watched 'QUISLING: The Final Days' (Amazon Prime). A powerful character study about Vidkun Quisling, Norway's leader during the Nazi occupation. The film concerns what happened to him during his incarceration for war crimes directly after the war.  His justification was that he was deathly afraid of Communism and really believed that Fascism was a lesser evil.  His deportment of the Jews was explained as 'people die in war because the rules are different'. The film has one of the most brutal executions I've ever seen. Quisling was strapped to a wall, blindfolded, and then about fifteen guys shot him in the heart (a target had been pinned to his chest). And then a man walks over and delivers a single pistol shot to his head.  

Finished 'DEUTSCHLAND 83'  (Amazon Prime). It ended a little abruptly, but still a fine series and somewhat based on historical facts. From AI Overview: "The 1983 Pershing missile deployment in West Germany, part of NATO's "dual-track" policy to counter the Soviet SS-20 missile, was a pivotal Cold War event that escalated tensions and brought the world to the brink of nuclear war. 

It's time to mow. The anxiety to put it off is now greater than actually doing it. And I'm looking forward to feeling so good after it's done.

Began 'RIVERS OF FATE' (Netflix). I shut it down 23 minutes into episode#2.  A gritty slice of life drama about sex trafficking along the Amazon. It's a compelling piece of cinema and I'll be back for more.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
