Up 6am: Cloudy and threat of rain, then variable clouds with temps to about 80. 

***630am- 715am: County Market/ Fairhills. I got all the way to the checkout when I realized that I had left my wallet at home. I went to the car to use the emergency card in the glovebox. I had never used it before and was surprised and pleased that it went through. 

***When I got the groceries put away I booted up the living room PC and logged in to a black screen. I don't know what I'll do, but this is clearly requiring far more than I am capable of.

Watched 'SERPICO' (Kanopy). Frank Serpico stands alone against systemic corruption in the NYC police department of the 1970's. I loved it; with Al Pacino. Directed by Sidney Lumet and written by Peter Maas (THE VALACHI PAPERS). "83" Metascore and I would go to "90". 

Began 'I AM SLAVE' (Kanopy). The young woman is from The Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan which is a state of Sudan. I shut it down at the 39 minute mark. {I'll finish at Planet Fitness- didn't happen and I finished it Saturday evening}. 

1140am: I saw the guy across the street accept a large bouquet of flowers from a delivery guy.  Did he order them for his wife? How romantic.

1220pm: Preparing for a visit to Planet Fitness.

1255pm:  To Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30"Recumbent Bike, 30"Treadmill, 30"Cross...THREE HOURS; watched 'UNKNOWN CALLER: The High School Catfish' (Netflix). It was her mom sending the graphic and hurtful texts; more of 'TITANS:The Rise Of Wall Street' (Netflix); more of STAVVY on 'SODER'.

Reading & finished 'PICTURE PALACE' by PAUL THEREOUX & began 'INNOCENCE' by DEAN KOONTZ. 

540pm:   In the tub with 'INNOCENCE' and listening to SOFT MACHINE- 'Bundles'; MILES DAVIS- 'Star People'; BAD COMPANY Playlist. 

More of CRAIG CONANT ("I had a Mexican mother and an angry white man") and JORDAN JENSEN.

Finished 'I AM SLAVE' (Kanopy). Human trafficking usually involves sex workers, but this is a case of someone who became a slave only to do house work and nanny duties. Hard to believe that someone would risk prosecution for 'owning a slave' just to get cheap domestic help. Before the final credits rolled: "There is evidence that up to 5,000 young women are living as slaves in London today. International reports say that over 20,000 people have been enslaved in Sudan". 

More 'SARA: Woman In The Shadows' (Netflix). I shut it down 14 minutes into the final episode of the series. I'll finish the series tomorrow.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
