Watched 'TOMMASO' (Hoopla). An older American 'writer/ director/ actor', his much younger wife and their three year old daughter live in an upper-middle class apartment in contemporary Rome, Italia. Although a successful artist, he's a recovering addict and his insecurities are becoming a problem for the family. He believes that his young wife won't listen to him and benefit from his wealth of experience. A lot of the lurid aspects of the film are probably just the man's frightened imaginings. Professionally and socially it seemed like he was leading the perfect life, but he was clearly out of sync in his personal life. He blamed others, but the problem was him, but I'm not so sure that was a direct result of his addiction. However, he gets satisfaction and benefits from bearing his soul at AA meetings. I really enjoyed this deeply moving Art film; with Willem Dafoe, Cristina Chiriac, Anna Ferrara (she played the three year old daughter and is the director's child). Directed by Abel Ferrara. "66" Metascore and I go to "86".  

Watched 'COBWEB' (Netflix). A subpar Canadian horror film about a young boy with sinister parents and a monster 'sister' who lurks in the walls of their house.  The premise is silly and the film's only plus was the cinematography was somewhat effective. Although, not nearly enough to make this 'haunted house' genre film any better than barely average. 

Wrote a Chat and am not sure whether I'll hit Esporta or walk to Washington Park. 

1pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began a dull Netflix documentary about the Canadian mob during the 70's; 'BREAKING POINTS'- Pornography is social contagion, 

Reading buzzed & finished 'MY SECRET HISTORY. Began 'THE HIGH CRUSADE' by POUL ANDERSON.

440pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; Asian guy on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

440pm: In the tub with 'THE HIGH CRUSADE' and listening to YES- 'Fragile'; DAVID BOWIE- 'The Man Who Sold The World'/ Playlist.

Finished RONNY CHIENG on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

More 'ROTTEN LEGACY' (Netflix). I shut it down 22 minutes into episode #4. The authorities have just discovered 27 skeletons on one of the kid's properties. Skulduggery & trickery are this family's bread and butter.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
