Watched 'THE CONVERT' (Kanopy). In 1830 a British lay preacher arrived in New Zealand to minister to the members in a small settlement of white settlers. Friction between the Whites and the Maori escalate and the preacher sides with the local folks. A thin plot, yet beautiful settings, sets, costumes, and the truly exceptional depiction of Maori warfare; with Guy Pearce. Two wins & 5 nominations. "66" Metascore and I would boost that to "76". 

Watched 'AT THE DRIVE-IN' (Hoopla- Bonus Borrow). The story of 'The Mahoning Drive-in Theater' in Lehighton, PA. which is in a very rural area in the northeastern part of the state. Instead of going digital, these guys went retro- 35 mm. They marketed the venue as the largest 35 mm screen in Pennsylvania and the second largest in the United States and played 'theme' pictures. The unpaid staff welcomed people to dress-up for the films and celebrate the nostalgia of the experience. It's a charming film from start to finish.

More 'BILLIONAIRES' BUNKER' (Netflix). I shut it down 43 minutes into episode #4. The 'G uards' are using the people in the bunker to be 'studied' by a super-computer. This computer will glean enough data on the people to duplicate their personalities down to the tiniest detail. Then, I guess they will use the 'fakes' to take all of the billionaires' money.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
