Up 6am: Partly sunny & breezy with temps about 60. 

Watched 'THE OUTFIT' (Netflix). It's an intricate puzzle of a film and reminded me of something David Mamet might have made. 'The Tailor' ("I'm not a tailor, I'm a cutter") is the puppeteer in a clash between rival outfits' in 50's Chicago and all of the action takes place in his shop. The elegant way that the dialogue reveals the story is 'everything'. Most of the action is outside of the shop and we don't see it;  Mark Rylance, Zoey Deutch, Dylan O'Brien, Johnny Flynn. "69" Metascore and I would go to "82".  

Watched 'SEMI-SOETER' (Netflix). Not funny (in any language) and it was in the Afrikaans language and shot in Cape Winelands and Johannesburg, South Africa. 'One Thumb Down'.  

More 'DEATH BY LIGHTNING' (Netflix). Sixty-six minutes left, and I can finish the series tonight.

Finished 'DEATH BY LIGHTNING' (Netflix). Had the attending doctor at Garfield's assassination left the bullet alone instead of trying to remove it, the president probably would have lived. He died of sepsis that was caused by surgery. Chester Arthur, Garfield's hapless vice president, became the president and served only one term. 

I began watching 'BABY BAMBITO' (Netflix).  I shut it down 6 minutes into the first episode of season #2. In an opening scene a horse is bid on for $300 million Chilean pesos which is $322,600 usd.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
