Watched 'THE TASTE OF THINGS' (Kanopy). A beguiling look at the high art of Gastronomy & exacting food preparation within the upper class in the late nineteenth century. The people who cook the food are artists and the people who consume it are epicureans of the highest order. Nearly a silent film and the food was the central character, although there is a subtle romance between the chef and his cook (common law-wife). The meals were alien to 21st century tastes with lots of boiled vegetables and meats; small roasted whole chickens; odd creatures from the sea & and everything would be cold by the time you were served. Baked Alaska was my favorite dish- a pie served flaming with frozen ice cream on the inside; with Juliette Binoche. "85" Metascore and that's about where I'd leave it. Watched 'COMPANION' (Amazon Prime). It's an elegant and very caustic satire about a not too distant future in which 'fuckbots' can be engineered to feel more than just sex. They can be easily programmed to experience  a transcendental and supreme love just like many lucky humans. Unfortunately, the results are not nearly as romantic as you might imagine. "70" Metascore and I would go to "86".

A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
