***Early this morning they picked up the leaf bags out front. There was at least a half foot of snow on the bags and they must have weighed a ton because I packed the bags with wet leaves. 

Watched 'THE FOLLIES' (Netflix).   'The Highlights':  1) A manic depressive woman is on lockdown at home and forced to wear an ankle monitor; 2) Two vets visit an apartment to 'put down' an elderly dog 3- That was a powerful episode);  3) Elderly mom and her daughter are in a taxicab and mom says she's divorcing dad and 'starting over'. The daughter visits the manic depressive woman in episode #1. 4) Birthday Party In Hell- The lady shrink attends her elderly mother's birthday party and finds that her hated ex-husband is also a guest. She gets raked over the colas, and then makes a startling claim (her brother is gay and he's having sex with her sister's husband). Then she rips the tablecloth off of the birthday banquet table and makes a truly impressive exit. 5) A wild interpretive modern dance class where the dancers 'act out' as animals in pantomime. In the final episode the manic depressive helps her father sell their rundown mansion . Comps were $24,000,000 Mexican pesos which is $1,320,000 usd. The film was in 'anthology form' and therefore somewhat of a difficult presentation, but well worth the extra effort.  

The film is set in San Miguel Chapultepec which is a traditional neighborhood in southwestern Mexico City.  

{Finished} 'BLOOD COAST' (Netflix). On second thought, the new season drops on Tuesday so I'll watch the last 30 minutes of season #1 when I start season #2.

Started 'FUGUE STATE: 1986' (Netflix). It's a kind of Leopold & Loeb storyline set in Bogata, Colombia. I will continue this series tonight. 

1210pm: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for 5 miles on the treadmill.

1240pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT;  TUESDAYS WITH STORIES; more 'CHAOS'.

More 'FUGUE STATE: 1986' (Netflix). I shut it down 16 minutes into episode #3. What's the young guy's relationship to the killer?  He can't remember, hence the 'fugue state'. The grumpy old guy was only trying 'to wipe the scum from the streets' like Travis Bickle, but what part did the young guy play?

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
