Watched 'THE SADNESS' (Hoopla). A pandemic morphs into a plague that turns random people into homicidal and sexual predators. It's a satirical bloodbath and worth a look.    "68" Metascore and I would go to "86". PASTE MAGAZINE: "The Sadness is incredibly gorey and gleefully embraces just about every documented taboo—but instead of an exhausting edgelord sensibility, it accurately depicts just how little convincing a crumbling society needs to obliterate itself."....slickly-produced gorefest"...  Shot during the COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, and the nearby city of Keelung.

Watched 'ERNEST COLE: LOST AND FOUND (Kanopy). In the mid 60's this photographer recorded the starkly oppressive nature of Apartheid in South Africa. When he was expelled from the country, he relocated to NYC and his photos reflected the same racist patterns. The title refers to the question as to why his life's work was saved in a Swedish bank vault for several decades. Although they claim to have lost all records concerning who set up & authorized the account, the bank claims ownership of Cole's photos, notes, & negatives and the family disagrees. A superior documentary and his black and white photos were riveting. "82" Metascore and I would go to "86". 

More 'AMSTERDAM EMPIRE' (Netflix). I shut it down with 11 minutes left to go on the penultimate episode and there's slightly less than an hour in the series and I'll finish it 

1145am: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a visit to Esporta. I might do the grocery shopping after the workout...hard maybe, yet it happened. 

1220pm:  To Esporta...45"Precor, 45"Treadmill, 30"Cross, 15"Recumbent Bike, 15"Precor...TWO HOURS AND 30 MINUTES; watched faux-documentary 'A NECESSARY DEATH' (Amazon Prime)- A graduate student in film study does his thesis on suicide. He & his team get a guy who is terminally ill and has decided to end his losing battle with brain cancer.  The dying man agrees to be the subject and later he forms a relationship with a woman on the documentarian's team and the protagonist ends up shooting the director and then himself. Very different & worth a look;  began 'A MODEL DAUGHTER: THE KILLING OF CAROLINE BYRNE' (Amazon Prime)- A woman leaps to her death in Australia. Was it suicide or murder? I shut it down with 57 minutes remaining

Finished "Cannabis Hybrid Explosion"- Sativa vs. Indica is no longer as clear cut as it was. (25") THC is NOT the only issue with the weed that gets you the highest; terpene profiles are a bigger factor. Weed stores are pushing the 'THC Content', but that's only one issue to how high you will feel. Myth vs. Science.  

I had planned to finish 'AMSTERDAM EMPIRE' (Netflix), but I finished the seventh episode and will save the entire final chapter for tomorrow morning. 

More 'A MODEL DAUGHTER: THE KILLING OF CAROLINE BYRNE' (Amazon Prime). The action takes place near Sydney, Australia which is on the southeastern coast north of Melbourne and south of Brisbane. I shut it down with about 20 minutes remaining in the film. I think that a visit to the incident's page at Wikipedia will be more engrossing than this film. The only redeeming quality is the locations in Sydney harbor.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
