Watched 'MOTHER'S INSTINCT' (Amazon Prime). A very odd film with a wild storyline, but I guess it could have happened. A woman loses her eight year old son when he falls off the second floor balcony of their home. Sometime after the event her husband commits suicide and later she murders the mom & dad next door and adopts their boy. It's set at the birth of the exurban boom of the late 1950's and really highlights the extreme sense of decorum that ruled the day during that period of American history; with Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Anders Danielsen Lie (famous actor from Norway; 'THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD'), Josh Charles. From a Belgian novel by Barbara Abel called "Derriere la haine" of 'Behind The Hatred'. "48" Metascore and I would go to "80". From The Guardian: "A film about two immaculately groomed women gaslighting and goading each other to the point of madness should be a lot more fun than this". 

Began 'THE UNTAMED' (Kanopy). This movie was the strangest yet. It begins as a seemingly random look at the sex lives of a few people in a mid-sized city in central Mexico. It seems that a UFO has landed in rural Mexico and the snake-like creature requires sex from the local humans.  In one of the subplots, a young married woman learns that her husband is having sex with her gay brother. Hubby is full of contradictory and anti-gay rhetoric, yet in the end she feeds him to the intergalactic sex god. The film was a real treat for the eyes and although it sounds ridiculous, the experience was highly engaging. Filmed in and around the city of Guanajuato, Mexico which is in central Mexico about 240 miles northwest of Mexico City. 

1220pm: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. Feeling a little bit of cabin fever and very tired of the arctic conditions. 

1250pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched 'HONEY DEW' with Ryan's brothers; more MARK NORMAND on 'TYSO'.

More 'LUDEN' (Amazon Prime). I shut it down 18 minutes into episode #5. The AIDS Epidemic shuts down the cash flow for The Nutella Gang.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
